About

A familiar vibe. A fresh challenge.

The table setup is beautiful and inviting. Perhaps there are some snacks and drinks nearby (or perhaps not). Your group gathers on a regular basis, and you’re all set for some friendly game-time competition and social connection. This energy is what I love about playing American Mahjong.

But over time, I grew tired of fixed game cards with suits and numbers and a finite number of winnable hands, often wishing I could play a hand that wasn’t there. Another version of Mahjong was not the answer; I was looking for something very different. So, while continuing to play Mahjong with various friend groups and online against bots, noQ was born in Chicago. noQ is a game where a player’s own skill and creativity take the lead. It’s a word-building letter-tile game, in the flexible format I longed for. It features large, premium tiles for that great tactile feel and moves with a familiar Mahjong-style rhythm. But noQ is completely original with its own rules and possibilities. Best of all… every round is a unique experience—you’re unlikely to ever assemble the same winning hand twice. So keep the energy and step into a different kind of play. You do not need any Mahjong knowledge to enjoy (and get hooked on) noQ. Wondering why it’s called noQ? Because there’s no letter Q in the game. Happy connecting, and happy word-building, ~Cheryl~ Founder, noQ™ Game
